The notifications for MS, M Tech, PhD courses in IIT, IISc and even NIT start coming in September every year. Forms are to be filled in Oct to Dec. There will be interviews for MS, M Tech and PhD followed by which the session starts in January.
Normally high CGPA or B Tech percentage (More than 8 CGPA) and GATE qualified is the eligibility criteria for winter admission. Low GATE score is not problem as the GATE score is just criteria for interview call. So for winter admission in IIT, IISc, IIM, the main focus is interview. The probability of selection in winter admission is higher than that in the summer as number of students with high GATE score have already taken admission in summers.
Fellowship Programme in Management (FPM) is the PhD program in Indian Institute of Managements (IIM) which is through GATE as well as CAT. There are many specialisations such as Organisational Behaviour and Operation management in which students are taken through GATE score instead of CAT score. Scholarship is offered in FPM in IIM which is Rs 30K per month. There are numerous other grants also which are provided along with scholarship.
