BARC Interview Guidance

The interview panel at BARC asks questions from the following subjects: Network Theory, EDC, Digital, Controls, and Analog circuits, Electromagnetic field theory, communication system and signal and system . The panel will ask questions specifically related to these subjects, but they will go into great detail. This depth of questioning can focus on either theoretical or practical applications of the subject matter. Therefore, be prepared for unexpected and challenging questions. The panel is known to be very supportive and will offer hints to guide you. If you are able to articulate your ideas effectively and possess a strong understanding of the subject matter, then you have a good chance of succeeding.

Analog Circuit
1. Draw a circuit to get rate of change of temperature of any industry.
2. How to obtain difference between 2 temperature?
3. Suggest a ckt to rectify 1 mv ac signal.
4. What are the disadvantages of precision rectifier using single diode?
5. What is virtual short of an Op-amp? Derive it.
6. Draw non-inverting differentiation ckt using op-amp why do we use resistor in feedback?
Control System
1. Difference between open loop and closed loop control system.
2. How do we reduce disturbances introduced is a system?
3. Fan is open loop or closed loop?
4. Draw open loop control system of fan.
5. What is steady state error. When tamp is applied to 2nd order system?
6. Steady state error comparison b/w first order and 2nd order system
7. To increase GM from 10 db to 20 db. What is the K value required?
Network
1. What is tank circuit?
2. Draw frequency v/s impedance graph for ideal tank circuit. How do we it for tuning purpose when it has infinite impedance at resonant frequency?
3. At which stage tanning ckt is use is AM receiver.
Communication
1. How do we generate AM wave?
2. What is the freq. of message and carrier?
3. Block diagram of receiver?
4. Why we can listen to AM radio everywhere, but not FM radio?
5. What is the reason for attenuation is AM radio.
Digital
1. Which gate can be used to control light using 2 switches:
2. Difference b/w digital and continuous signal.
3. Difference b/w combinational and sequential ckt.
